Side effects of becoming millionaire/billionaire

Having money, being financially independent is one of the most necessary thing to achieve in life. Okay, you can earn more than you need so that, that extra money can act as shock absorber in emergency situations. But earning a lot of money or aiming for becoming filthy rich is futile. What we mean by filthy rich is becoming multi millionaire or billionaire . Here are some side effects of trying to become millionaire/billionaire:

1) In pursuit of earning crazy amount of money, you must invest a large portion of your life, may be 2-3 decades and that too your prime years in earning money. You would do jobs/businesses you don't like. Burnouts can be your weekend achievements. Also, You would be missing on all other experiences of learning new things, exploring life deepest questions, reading all sorts of literature, travelling around the world, etc. That's the opportunity cost you pay in trying to earn a lot. What amount of money can you equate to having these experiences in your youth? I hope, the answer is "NONE".

2) Resources in this world are finite. In modern economy, we equate value of resources in monetary terms. So, you gathering a lot of money can deprive others to get their fair share. Ideally, all resources should be divided equally without much deviations, but concentration of wealth in few countable hands can exponentially widen the inequality gap. And That world would not be a fair place to live in.

3)A lot money is driven by materialistic life and increased consumerism. Increasing consumerism can have a deep negative impact on climate change. Consumerism is directly proportional to carbon footprints. This is direct threat to survival of humanity and earth.

So, now you can decide whether this extreme concentration of wealth is a right thing for you and the world. Think before you chase anything mindlessly.
